Funky Friends Kelsey the Keepsake Unicorn Sewing Pattern Finished Size: 30cm (12 inches) from sitting to top of head! Funky Friends Kelsey the Keepsake Unicorn is an elegant baby unicorn who is perfect for dress-up play and cuddles! She is a perfect pattern for creating keepsake memory toys and has been designed to be made from baby clothes (although any fabrics will work well for Kelsey!). She is a jointed, ‘sitting toy’ who has been made with button joints to create moveable arms and legs. This pattern includes instructions on how to joint your unicorn, pattern pieces for the tutu skirt, as well as for the felt head decorations. Kelsey’s removeable tutu and luxurious mane and tail allow for customization and dress-up fun. If you are making a keepsake toy, you can use the various pattern spaces such as the foot pads, split tummy piece and arms to display contrasting fabrics or even logos or dates. If you are using fabrics with a stretch, you may want to use interfacing to stop them stretching out of shape when you stuff Kelsey! The full size paper pattern comes with an instruction booklet. In addition to this, Funky Friends also have tutorial videos to help guide you through your toy making journey. Materials you will need to make Funky Friends Kelsey the Keepsake Unicorn:- Main Fabric – 38cm x 110cm wide (15inches x 43 inches wide) Contrast Fabric – 33cm x 55cm wide (13inches x 21½ inches wide)  * Or you can use between 6 and 8 items of baby clothes for each Unicorn 4 Buttons (for arm & leg joints) – about 2½cm /1 inch Strong Thread for button jointing 12mm Safety Eyes Ribbon for tutu – 90cm / 37 inches Tulle (netting) for tutu – 45cm x 240cm / 18 x 95 inches wide Felt Scraps for flowers/stars on head Toy Stuffing Sewing thread Iron-on light/medium weight interfacing (this is needed only if you are using thin or very stretchy fabrics or, if you are using a mix of different types of fabrics. You do NOT need to use interfacing on the mane and tail and it is recommended to use a thin fabric for these elements) Equipment you will need:- A sewing needle & pins Fabric scissors with a fine tip Paper scissors Fine tipped fabric pen or a pencil Craft Glue & firm card for the templates (cereal boxes are fine!)
